Got soaked in Haltemprice & Howden today. As well as the man himself, I met fellow bloggers Andrew Allison, Sam Tarran and Donal Blaney for the first time which was a pleasure.
Not much sign of any other party making a breakthrough, but turnout will be a problem if the weather stays like this. I'd say that if DD gets 20,000 this Thursday he will have done magnificently.

It is excellent that so many people have rolled their sleeves up to help DD in this election.
It is typical of the media that their interest has waned because there is no Tory v Labour fight.
At least some good people are seeing to it that the electorate can either give DD a mandate to oppose Labour's erosion of our liberty and privacy, or vote against DD for more of the same.
Cheers for the lift again. Even if we did get absolutely saturated once we got up there.
Good to meet up with you today. I will return your coat at the conference. I applied online when I got home, so I should be in Birmingham at the end of September. I will be in touch.
Well done. You were right when you forcast no other party would breakthrough, but 20,000 was something of an over estimate.
With 17,113 votes in the bag, are you still 'Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made Of'?
20,000 was the stretch target. I am very happy with the result.
I’m disappointed Davis turned the debate on 42 days into a farce, but amused to see his career come to an end in the way that it has.
Do you still think ‘David Davis’ resignation isn’t the moment when the mainstream meeja took leave of their senses, but it will be seen in that way… For innovation, DD scores 10 out of 10’?
You forecast ‘Haltemprice and Howden 2008 will be a jamboree for liberty and freedom’. And jamboree it was… but for fringe candidates and assorted misfits.
Yes the mainstream media got it wrong - that's pretty much established. Yes he scores 10 out of 10 for innovation and yes it was a jamboree for freedom and liberty. I was right, just a little ahead of the curve as usual.
The reason I withdrew the post you refer to (tell you what I'll put it up again if you are such a fan) was because this campaign was cross-party and my post was too partisan.
Yes his campaign could have been more effective. I can say that about most campaigns.
I struggle to see what the media got wrong, but maybe that's because you are so very far ahead of the curve (be careful not to go off at a tangent).
Please do reinstate 'We Are Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made Of', it really is my favourite.
And now you're getting back to a bit of blogging, any chance of reviving that series on PragueTory's school days? That time you put a drawing pin on some chump's chair (you old rebel, you!) was hilarious.
You're the one who's gone off at a tangent, Stephen. It's what people do when they've lost the argument. I did find an old post which I have republished. Looks like you have my posts anyway.
Sorry Dominic, you've lost me. I have no idea what you think the media got wrong.
I also struggle to see what Davis's political suicide has achieved. As ConservativeHome points out, he's failed to move the public on 42 days. (Which is a shame, but given his right-wing take on related issues he was never a credible civil libertarian.)
But if the exercise has been such a great success, why aren't more Tory MPs following his example?
DD and I are polar opposites of you, Stephen so I understand your intepretation and your intention to portray him as bonkers. Guardianista Andrew Sparrow has a more balanced view.
Re your final question, it's been reported that DD persuaded several other MPs (and not just Tories) that they need not follow his lead. Part of the appeal of what he did was the shock/novelty value.
I'm relieved to learn that we are opposites; that's the kindest thing you've ever said. (Although I agree DD has novelty value.)
Let's have some links to these reports you speak of; I think you've made that up.
And where's 'We Are Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made Of'; you did offer to republish it.
I never make stuff up. If you try and fail to find these reports I will give you a link, but I'm not your web-lackey.
I have tried and failed.
Took me less than a minute. Here you go.

Thanks for that.
'Davis persuaded them that "there should only be one sacrifice".'
Hillarious and impossible to parody.
