In the wake of the Mumbai atrocities the Indian Home Office Minister, Shivraj Patil, has emphasised the operational independence of India’s police force and security services.

Well, at least heads have rolled in Haringey ...
It will take time, but Jacqui Smith will be gone eventually (hopefully before her 2,000 majority in Redditch turns into at least a 5,000 deficit!).
But have the haringey lot, walked away with
a nice payout......which all ways seems to be the way.
Does Jacqui Smith have a new haircut?....... maybe
she's going to start calling herself "New Jacqui Smith". In the hope, she can reinvent herself. New Labour...........same old cr*p!.
If only!
