21st Century Campaigning

The Labour Party have dropped another notch with their Jedward negative campaigning. At the excellent Alice in Chains gig I went to yesterday, I was passed a flyer advertising the following band.

I raised a laugh when I said that it was a Gordon Brown letter of apology. Not sure that a politicians who complains to cartoonists for making him look fat will do tell well on this campaigning territory.

Considering what Gordon Brown has dragged us through, I personally think he should get his priorities straight.

Politicians have been lampooned for generations. The "Election Night Special" sketch from Monty Python, "Spitting Image" and the most recent "The Thick of It" are all examples of political satire, and like them or loathe them, there will always be political satire.

Gordon really needs to lighten up and just take these jokes as they are. David Cameron never complained when he was lampooned on the short-lived "Headcases", so why should Gordon be any different?

My song "Gordon Brown be my Angel" can be interpreted as being pro-labour, but it's first and foremost about legal affairs and my entire female productive system, and why it's important for the next 124 years to be more prosperous than the previous 124 years.

Brahms Lullaby

Gordon Brown! Gordon Brown!
Will you be my angel?
Guardian angel is what I meant
Will you rescue my soul?

For you are in charge
Of these people I wrote to
Stephen Timms, Jack Straw
Let me place my trust in you

Gordon Brown! MP’s!
Let me sing out loud
For what you do, for my country
For my reproductive system

You right wrongs! My right’s been wronged
I am desperate for you
Not just you! There’s Jon Herring
I’m a violated woman

Gordon Brown, help me sleep!
Help me sleep like a baby
Will my babies ever come out?
Maternal desires!
I lost my womanhood
In a sinister curse
Gordon Brown! Bring it back!
You are perfect for that!
